Another weird mathematician is-

1.     Pa Alphaeus Taiwo Olunaike-a.k.a. ‘Alajo Somolu’

He was one of the surviving triplets. He was born at a time triplet was taken to be a taboo. The last of the triplet was buried immediately while his second called ‘Kehinde’ died in infancy.

A popular Lagos based thrift collector. He was renowned in the area of daily contribution and without reference to his log book, recounted savings of over thousand people. Those who ventured to argue with him became awesome at his phenomenal recollection of statistical details without opening any record book. His mental acuity became a chorus everybody loved to sing in family circles and public discussions that anyone who showed a sign of wisdom desired to be associated with his name. So it is fashionable to laud a wise man,’ori e pe bi alajo Somolu to ta moto to fi rakeke’, meaning ‘your brain as sharp of Alajo Somolu that sold bus to buy bicycle’

It was said, he sold his bus due to the headache he got from his drivers and used the proceed to buy bicycle for his thrift collection to get to terrain buses/cars cannot reach. 

He died at age of 97 at his famed residence, No 81 Olorunkemi Street, Somolu. He was buried on September 22 2012, at the Church of Nigeria Cathedral, Isonyin Ijebu, Ogun State.
